Uniquely situated on the Southwest tip of England, the City of Plymouth is rich with history as well as breathtaking seaside views. Since Plymouth is a major fishing port, fresh fish is caught daily and sold at the local market. The deepest aquarium tank in Europe is also featured at the Aquarium at Plymouth, which contains a plethora of various species of marine wildlife. Take a boat along the docks to sightsee or even go fishing. The Naval Dockyard and the HMS Raleigh is also just right around the corner, which offer a historical sightseeing treat.
A number of exciting sailing events occur throughout the year as well. Famous West End performances can be seen at the Theatre Royal, whilst a trip back in history can be taken down the cobbled stone paths of ancient Barbican. It’s not difficult to see a glimpse of nature’s beauty with the rugged wilderness of the Dartmoor National Park and the picturesque beaches of Devon and Cornwall nearby.
